As I contemplated titles to appropriately name this piece, my original thought was "111 Reasons Why I Used to Hate My Life, Paired with the 111 Silver Linings that Made Me Reevaluate". Needless to say, this would no doubt have been a mouthful guaranteed to scare away potential readers. Therefore, I shortened the title to the present and simply sweet, "111 Silver Linings".
You may ask why I would have come up with over 100 reasons that I hated my life? Well, like most people in the world today I saw fellow peoples' lives as the greener grass on the other side of the fence - something that I might never be able to obtain. But what I learned is that there is a healthy growth of lush and vibrant grass on this very side!
Please pardon the common metaphor, but I figure most people out there can relate to feeling a bit desperate at times. Whether it is an intense desire to advance a career, a growing urge to start a family, or a persistent need to change another detail of our lives, we can all feel a little lackluster about where we are and where we want to go. In fact, there is probably nothing more consistently aggravating than the longing to show on the outside exactly what we envision ourselves being on the inside.
In my head, I am a strong and courageous bad-ass that bravely protects her loved ones despite any pestering fears. I kick butt in lace-up leather boots, sexy leather corsets, and perfectly curled hair that swings gorgeously to my rear end. I wake up looking picture ready and I always speak just the right words to inspire others with profound wisdom that invokes pure happiness and utter love.
So... that's what I envision, but here is reality and the resulting 222 Silver Linings that I want to put out there as a reminder to both myself and others just how many good things are in our life, as-is and lovely. Who knows?! If you are in need of a little reminder yourself, then maybe reading a few of these will relate and remind you of the silver linings in your own life!
I hope you could relate to some of these and enjoyed the perky list of silver linings that currently spice up my life.
Hugs for positivity,
