Check out the new Childless Not By Choice online magazine, which provides resources, information, and sense of community to those struggling with a CNBC status!
Hello readers,
This article is dear to my heart as fertility problems have affected several people in my own family. Please read and share with family and friends. Fertility problems are more than just a complication that needs fixing. The reality of permanent infertility is both heartbreaking and devastating, to many couples around the world, regardless of the condition's cause. Meet Nicci, founder of the Childless Not By Choice magazine, which provides support for people who are part of the Childless Not By Choice (CNBC) Community. She and her husband, Andrew, suffered over ten years of difficulty enduring IVF treatment, miscarriage, and pain before discovering that their fertility problems would not disappear. Stressed out and depressed, Nicci sought comfort through the support of online communities. Emboldened by others in the support forum, Nicci then started writing a blog - called The Voice of Infertility - and as she became more involved in the CNBC Community, Nicci learned about the existence of National Infertility Awareness Week (USA) and Fertility Awareness Week (UK). Encouraged by the idea of such widespread support, Nicci began to explore them in more detail. However, she soon discovered that the main focus of these two awareness weeks, as well as many infertility support groups, is to spread knowledge about how to conceive (rather than helping those who can't conceive come to terms with their childless status). Disappointed in the available support outlets, Nicci decided to be the change and invest in outreach. In April of 2017, she was pondering the creation of a biannual, online summit when she learned about World Childless Week (WCW). Spurred on by WCW founder Stephanie Phillips' vision, Nicci devoted all efforts to make the event as successful as possible. The positive response to the WCW event, which took place in September, inspired Nicci to extend her efforts of outreach to connect with people throughout the year. This leads us to the launch of Childless Not By Choice magazine, an online paper providing resources, information, and sense of community to those struggling with a CNBC status. The first magazine in the world specifically dedicated to the CNBC Community, Childless Not By Choice magazine will be published six times per year with exclusive written and video content.
