Seasonal: 17 Ideas for Fall Family Fun

I don't know about y'all, but fall is one of my favorite times of year! Whether you dub this occasion fall, autumn, or harvest, this season is one of the most comforting and homey. From baking yummy treats to attending festivals, Fall is just a great time of year to spend with family and friends. 

Old traditions are great; however, if you are like my family, you might want to mix it up a little this year.

So, in the spirit of the season, I have compiled a list of fun fall ideas and adventures for the entire family.

1. The best one - remember what you are thankful for this year. You can even write down some of your blessings, to look over as the holidays roll in, or write those thank you notes you have been putting off.
2. Decorate the porch - use Scarecrows, pumpkins, and colored leaves to make it festive.
3. Start crafting - get out those knitting and crochet needles to craft a scarf or blanket for the chilly season. Visit Red Heart or Lion Brand to see the latest holiday crochet and knitting patterns.
4. Sew it up - make your own Halloween costume to surprise your friends.
5. Host a Potluck - take advantage of the season and combine food with family time.

8. Start carving - carve your own pumpkin to make use of your creative side.

10. Share the love - bake a nice treat, and deliver it to a neighbor, or donate to the local food pantry.
11. Take a hike - dally through the park and enjoy the beautiful color changes.
12. Venture to an orchard to pick apples - this fruit is perfect for pie, cider, or the Apple-Bob game at the neighborhood party.
13. Visit the ghosts - take the kids on a spooky tour of the family graveyard.
14. Get country - support local farmers by loosing yourselves in a corn maze or going on a hay ride.
15. Chilly time - Enjoy the chill in the air while it lasts and go camping. Don't forget to build a bonfire and roast marshmallows on a stick for that authentic camping experience.
16. Celebrate Octoberfest - beer, sausage, and other German tasty treats really say "autumn".
17. My personal favorite - start that Christmas shopping now! If you are really adventurous, you can even bring out the decorations early.​
